Music
The heart. It's where blues, jazz, rock, classical, metal and other types of music come together. It's where the vision of new music is born. And it's where the passion to create is ignited.
On a hot summer's day on the outskirts of Takamatsu, Japan, Tim and a friend were walking along an empty stretch of road when they came upon a most curious scene. Seemingly unrelated artifacts had been collected and arranged by someone with a beautifully artistic vision. And in the midst of it all was a bench. Tim sat down.
Call It Blue
At this stage in his life, Tim is turning away from a product-centered focus, choosing a process-oriented path of creating the music that makes his heart sing.
His latest album, "Call It Blue", is a perfect example. Dedicating the month of July, 2010 to writing and recording whatever may reveal itself, Tim worked to keep his heart and mind open to the eclectic blend of styles that emerged.
Refusing to follow the strict conventions that have driven the music industry for more than a generation, Tim remained determined to let this album reflect his actual creative process. The result is a snapshot of emotions and ideas... hopes and dreams... finish lines and skinned knees.
He realizes this may not please everyone. In fact, he understands it may not please anyone at all.
He's okay with that, because he's worked long and hard on this album to satisfy the inner vision that refuses to settle for less than his best. These seemingly unrelated artifacts have been collected and arranged by someone whose love and artistic vision guide him forward.
And in the midst is a bench. Please... make yourself comfortable.
